Job Description Job Classification: Contract Position summary: The Quality Control Analyst in Analytical Chemistry is responsible for chemical analysis of raw material, in-process and final product samples. Responsibilities include performing several chemical analyses, including USP tests for heavy metals, nitrates, pH, conductivity, osmolality, TOC, KF, SDS-PAGE, western blot, HPLC, potency tests, and Spectrophotometric tests. Duties and responsibilities: - Perform analyses in accordance with the test method SOPs. - Ensure analytical equipment is calibrated and well maintained at all times. - Help investigate, assess, and troubleshoot analytical and/or equipment problems. - Notify QC manager immediately when a deviation, an aberrant result, or an OOT/OOS result is discovered, and initiate an investigation report. - Maintain the analytical lab. Order supplies as needed, store materials as indicated and discard expired materials as per manufacturer or test method recommendations. - Write and revise SOPs, technical protocols, and reports as needed. - Maintain sample tracking and integrity at all times until analyses are reviewed. - Participate in all method qualifications, validations, and transfers and is expected to communicate effectively with the QC Management as well as with other personnel - Assist with method development as required. - Perform general laboratory maintenance. - May be cross trained in QC Raw Materials and Microbiology groups.
