The successful candidate will be an accomplished QC Manager with proven success in managing a team toward highest quality production. The successful candidate is required to have welding/fabrication knowledge and preferance will be given to candidates who are certified welding inspectors with a minimum of 5 years experience as a QC Manager; and experience with a continuous improvement culture that achieves a world class quality standard. The required qualifications for this role are below.
Highest Priority:
· Significant experience leading the implementation of up-stream quality and continuous improvement processes in both shop floor and critical business system applications. Sophisticated with quality process metrics and control methods.
· Experience in a low volume, highly planned and customized environment. Ability to adapt modern quality concepts in this environment.
· Organizational skills -- Experience developing quality manuals, document control, CAR system, etc. Strong ability to manage detail with high level of personal organization.
· Financial/Metrics Acumen -- Has a clear sense of the effect the QC function has on the business at a cash flow and P/L level. Understands and can track the Cost of Quality. Reduces COQ through innovations, process improvements, and use of technology.
· QC / Welding Inspection Credentials -- Minimum of five years weld inspection required, preferably at the D 1.5 level. If not D 1.5 must be able to certify quickly. Understands development and maintenance of a quality manual and welding procedure system.
· Steel fabrication experience – Has a basic understanding of processes including burning, welding, assembly, drilling, painting.
· Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field of study. Additional training in Lean, 6 Sigma, Continuous Improvement, etc desired.
