Quality Control Manager Job in Morristown 07960, New Jersey US

 

Manages the analytical, sensory or microbiological analyses on product or ingredient lots. Defines and solves problems with non-conforming lots including, formulation, yields, contamination, and lab methodologies.  Provides direction and leadership for Quality Control Laboratory personnel. Assures LIMS system is used in accordance with Regional Policy.   Has an expert understanding of Order Fulfillment processes, including order entry, planning, warehousing, production, quality control and shipping. Has good understanding of commercial process related to Sales, FCandA and Sample Departments. Understands HR related processes such as objective setting, performance evaluation and training programs. Leads the team to deliver site KPI s.

 

Essential Responsibilities and Specific Duties (List in order of importance)

 

Manages the analytical, sensory, or microbiological evaluations performed by Quality Control personnel.  This can include reviewing data and information related to laboratory issues. Making approve/ reject decisions for non-compliant product lots. 

Assures good laboratory practices are being maintained and audits laboratory related to GLP and safety. Challenges existing ways of getting things done

Troubleshoots barriers for laboratory to create a more efficient process for sample management and communication of non-conformances. Advises and reviews root causes to internal rejections, and first pass yield failures.  This includes interpretation of analytical and sensory data as well as processing information.

Communicates and document (verbally and/or in writing) non-conformances and solutions to key contacts in Quality, Operations, Purchasing, Planning and Customer Care on a daily basis.  Acts as an information resource for other departments

Accountable for establishing and implementing laboratory training programs and documentation of such programs.

Requirement

4 Year Degree, Chemistry, Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science

7-10 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance in the food mfg industry

3-5 years Quality management experience in the food/ingredients industry. 

Good verbal and written communication skills.
