HVL/Douglas Laboratories, a growing organization and a worldwide leader in the nutritional supplement industry, is currently seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated individual to work as a Quality Control Manager at our corporate headquarters.
General Function: To ensure that quality products, that meet label specifications, are produced by HVL, Inc. Accomplishes this goal by overseeing the workflow and production in the analytical and microbiological labs in compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and ISO standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analytical Laboratory (ICP, GC and HPLC) and Microbiological Laboratory Management including workflow, training, discipline, and performance reviews.
- Knowledge of all testing procedures and the safe use of all lab equipment.
- Advanced maintenance of lab equipment.
- Develop and validate test methodology in the analytical labs.
- Continuous improvement of existing methods and technologies.
- Additional duties as required or assigned.
- Adherence to all applicable OSHA and EPA regulations.

- Member of ISO Management Team (Quality Manager)
- Release of Finished Products and Raw Materials from testing
- Technical Support for special analysis requests or requirements
- All Duties and Responsibilities of the Senior Chemist
- EU GMP compliance and testing requirements
- GMP/GLP duties and responsibilities
- Additional duties as required
Required Abilities:
- Analytical and trouble shooting abilities.
- Self motivated and reliable.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Requires expertise and proficiency with lab equipment and data analyses.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to stand and work in a fast paced environment for up to ten hours.
Working Conditions: Position is carried out in analytical laboratories within the confines of a factory setting, with minimum production floor exposure. Considerable exposure to raw materials, chemicals, and dust.
Education/Skill Level: B.S. in a science related field (Chemistry preferred); minimum five years of experience in the pharmaceutical or nutritional field preferred; prior supervisory experience required.
