QUALITY ENGINEER - DIESEL FUEL PUMPS

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to work on our client's Diesel Fuel Pumps DFP3, the next generation of common rail pumps.

In this role you will ensure that projects fully satisfy the requirements of TS16949 and APQP and advise the project manager on steps necessary to comply with the company PDP system. You will advise the project team on best practices and their application so that their target of 95% FTQ is achieved at start of production. You will be supporting the divisional Flawless Launch initiative. You will also advise the project team on all aspects of quality management and promote excellence in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). In addition you will integrate APQP into product and process development and assist in changing the quality planning culture. You will also facilitate fast and accurate two-way communication of new information and lessons learned.

Furthermore, you will assist project teams in the development of APQP project plans and participate in technical reviews and design reviews. You will also facilitate and support development of Characteristics Verification Matrix and review corrective action data, monitor status and capture lessons learned. You will provide input for APQP checklists and APQP open issues list; facilitate and support development of FMEA's and facilitate and support the identification of special characteristics.

Ideally you will hold a Mechanical Engineering Degree. Experience in a Quality role and knowledge of TS 16949 APQP would be an advantage. You should have project Management Skills - training will be provided to fill gaps. Personal strengths should include: Customer focused, attention to detail, self confidence, goal orientated, personal initiative and team working. You must be able to constructively deal with conflict situations and to develop and present technical presentations to customers and others. You must also be willing to travel for training, work with customers and for problem resolution on projects as necessary.
