Recruiting a Quality Engineer with a background in electronic components
TDK-Lambda Americas Inc., a world class manufacturer and distributor of electronic power supplies a leading global electronics company, seeks a qualified Quality Engineer to follow quality standards and maintain ISO requirements. This is a fulltime position which will be based in San Diego, California.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ø Develop and initiate methods for inspection, testing, process control and evaluation for electronic assembly
Ø Conduct quality related investigations of manufacturing processes utilizing Quality problem solving techniques to determine root cause and corrective action
Ø Create/analyze data and charts from Returns and monthly data.
Ø Research and issue corrective action request (CAR) to address internal and external quality issues
Ø Interface with repair dept or global factory to generate failure analysis report. Conduct trend analysis on returned product
Ø Interface with customers to address Quality issues
Ø Interface with global factories and contract manufacturers to maintain Quality standards and research quality problems
Ø Maintain and process disposition of discrepant material.
Ø Conduct product qualification activities and Cpk analysis on new and existing products.
Ø Support Repair department with data analysis and/or customer application on returned product.
Ø Interface with various internal departments and external customers to resolve Quality issues.
Ø Conduct internal audits to confirm compliance to ISO standards
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Ø Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering from four-year college or technical school; or five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education experience.
Ø Experience in Electronics Assembly/Manufacturing is required.
Ø Must have experience with PCB Assembly process controls including SMT.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ø Must possess the ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ø Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel with the aptitude to learn new software programs quickly.
Ø Ability to effectively present information to management and/or small groups.
Ø Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Ø Strong administrative and organizational skills; attention to detail is a must.
Successful candidate will be highly motivated, team oriented and well-organized. Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities.
