Quality Engineer Job in Calgary T2G4Y5, Alberta Canada

As part of the SNC-Lavalin group of companies, SNC-Lavalin T D designs, develops, and delivers engineering, including system planning and studies, procurement, and construction solutions for high voltage power transmission line and substation projects from our Canadian, United States and International office locations.

SNC-Lavalin TD has an exciting full time career opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer. Primarily based in our Calgary office and under the direct supervision of the Manager of Quality, the Quality Engineer will be responsible to implement quality improvements to the project delivery and applying applicable standard Quality Engineering tools on projects being executed by the TD business unit.

Additional responsibilities for the Quality Engineer are:
•Provide leadership in continuous “QUALITY” improvement to support delivery of successful projects and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
•Work with cross-functional team and project team to investigate quality issues, recommend technical solutions and then work with the teams to implement solutions.
•Provide training and mentoring on quality tools and their application.
•Establish and maintain quality metrics and measurement when appropriate.
•Maintain excellent collaborative working relationships with all groups including clients, suppliers, and internal team members / stakeholders.
•Ability to delegate for Manager of Quality
•Proven ability to implement and manage a Quality Program
•Some travel will be required between Project sites and TD offices in Canada and the USA.

Qualifications for the positions include:
•Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering or similar from a recognized institution.
•A Certified Quality Engineer. (Certified by a recognized institution like ASQ)
•Minimum 8 years of experience as quality engineer in an EPC environment.
•Proven leadership, collaboration facilitation skills.
•Strong client focus, initiative, and ability to manage change and achieve results / closure.
•Must be outgoing with strong ability to meet and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
•Demonstrated thorough understanding of quality improvement tools and techniques. Knowledge of management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and corrective actions, and overcoming barriers to quality improvements.
•Excellent oral and written English skills.
•Experience with ISO 9000 series.
•Attention to detail and accuracy.
•Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
•Proven decision making skills.
