QUALITY ENGINEER
A growing high tech custom plastics and composite aerospace manufacturer seeks a qualified Qaulity Engineer to coordinate activities within our manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include process improvements, AS9100/NADCAP compliance, process audits, cost reduction, deployment of Corporate quality initiatives, and various other initiatives to drive continuous improvement in all aspects of manufacturing operations. This individual will regularly interface with external customers, suppliers, and various levels of internal management.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Statistical Process Control (SPC Charting)
- Processing for CRP's (Contract Review Process) for Quality Review
- Manage and support Customer Product and Capability Audits
- Lead and support CAB (Corrective Action Board)
- Internal Corrective Action (CAR) Processing
- Ability to work with and interface with Customer Quality Representatives
- Support Customer Visits for Quality Activities
- Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Response (Internal and External)
- Quality Planning in support of new and existing programs
- Preparation and writing of documents, i.e., Acceptance Test Procedures, Quality Assurance Procedures, Quality metrics, etc., to support Quality Objectives
- Conduct AS9100 and NADCAP Audits of Key Processes
- First Article Inspection (FAI) Coordination and Preparation of deliverable final packages
- Executing Quality Process Training
Qualifications/Skill Requirements:
- 5 to 7 years hands-on Quality Engineering experience
- BS degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, Control Plans, etc. a plus
- Ability to read and understand customer specifications, drawings and general tolerance interpretation
- Manufacturing Process Validation
- Manufacturing and/or process improvement experience
- Experience in Manufacturing, Assembly, Composites and Aerospace industry
- Experience with MS Windows applications
- Computer Skills - Project Management tools experience is a plus
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals
Strong business acumen coupled with mental aptitude and motivation to learn new functions and expand areas of expertise
