Quality Engineer
Job Description Eaton Corporation located in Jackson, MI is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team. This role will primarily have functional responsibility for designing, developing, coordinating and deploying work instructions/procedures and associated process controls for the assigned product line/family. The incumbent will develop process improvements and cost control programs throughout the focus factory. They will review customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance with stated requirements. Provides technical support to operations, customers, and suppliers as needed. Provide training and supervise others as required. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: A. Completes Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision. B. Define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for manufacturing processes. C. Lead and/or provide technical advice and counsel to cross-functional teams assigned to continuous improvement, problem solving, and product development. D. Develop pFMEAs and Control Plans per AIAG standard. E. Assure that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements. F. Develop and implement corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, and lean tools. G. Host Customer and Third Party Auditors as needed. H. Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed. I. Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards. Ensure these documents align with the recognized Aerospace Quality System Standard as well as Eaton Objectives, Policies and Procedures. J. Perform MSA and process capability studies for key and significant characteristics. K. Provide technical guidance to less experienced Quality Engineers. L. Supervise other personnel as assigned or required. M. Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements) The ideal candidate will possess the following: ? Bachelor?s degree from accredited institution with 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment. ? Ability to read and understand blue prints, specifications, and requirements. ? Knowledge of assembly operations, gauging, and quality assurance systems (ISO 9001, AS9100). ? Experience in performing Quality Audits is preferred. ? Useable skills with MS Office software are preferred. ? ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (MOQ/OE) is preferred. Additionally: - Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship - Position requires interaction with external customers and internal personnel at all levels of the organization. - Up to 10% travel may be required. Travel may include either international or domestic assignments.
