The Company
Our client is a 1st tier leading automotive manufacturer and part of a global group of companies. This particular site is one of three UK based sites and is the largest of the three employing around 250 employees.
The Role
The role of Quality Engineer has recently become available due to a pending retirement. Reporting directly into the Quality Manager, you will be required to maintain and improve the existing production lines using world class techniques with a keen focus on quality improvement. A significant part of the role will be to introduce new products into manufacturing area using APQP and PPAP.
An additional part of the role is to maintain and build a relationship with the SQA team to deliver high standard APQP documentation.
The Person
You will be ONC/HNC qualified quality engineer with previous experience in a high turnover automotive business.
You must have a proven track record in robust manufacturing processes as well as a keen eye for continuous improvement.
You will have good knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes; industry background of practicing 8D is also required.
An understanding of FMEA would be advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.
Candidates will be computer literate, be able to communicate and work well with others. You must be confident in making decisions and pro active in your approach to making improvements.
