JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES;

Leading UK nuclear engineering organisation is seeking a Quality Engineer to support their growing workload.

 Ideally you will be experienced in working on a nuclear site, being suitably qualified and experienced in the fields of Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Internal auditor experience and surveillance of sub contractors is essential, together with experience of the creation and management of quality plans in support of ongoing plant renewal projects. The role is to coordinate all QA/QC activities for £7 m+ of project portfolio work.

 

Key Responsibilities

Promote a good Quality behaviour that delivers positive commitment to and engages all employees in continuous improvement in Quality.
Monitor and report on operational Quality performance and make recommendations for improvement. Monitor to ensure that effective action is taken
Carry out quality audits and surveillances against planned schedule. Report on findings, monitor and close out actions
Promptly alert line and functional management to significant issues
Review and comment on subcontractor’s quality arrangements.
Inspect and witness materials and equipment as necessary to fulfil the project.

Essential Qualifications

Well versed in the use of packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience of working in a project team environment
Internal audit qualification

 

Desirable Qualifications

HNC / Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
Member of the IQA
IQA Diploma
IRCA Lead auditor qualification

 

Experience Required

Project experience within the British Energy / EDF Energy environment would be preferred or general experience within the nuclear industry.
Knowledge and experience of project management
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation including CDM.
Awareness of internal and external standards and procedures.
Vendor Inspection and witness testing of materials and equipment for use on the project
