Description:
With more than 60 years in the industrial sector and headquartered in Pineville, NC, this supply and service company in the Carolinas has an immediate need for a project-oriented Quality Engineer. Comprised of three operating divisions: (Process Mechanical Construction, Automatic Fire Protection Systems and Custom Fabrication of Vessels), their goal is to provide clients with the best service possible aimed to result in timely completion of projects, on budget and with the highest level of quality.

Responsibilities:

-Supervise Quality Assurance/Quality Control activities related to design construction for the Fabrication Division.

-Report to the Quality Assurance Manager on performance of quality management system within the Fabrication Division.

-Supervise, train and direct quality control inspectors.

-Review incoming project documents and develop an Inspection Test Plan to provide specific instruction to the inspectors.

-Aid in the implementation and management of corporate quality assurance program and policies -- evaluating and revising procedures to achieve continuous improvements.

-Lead and assist quality team on the identification, analysis and tracking of the root causes of quality issues.

Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

-Supervisory experience

-5 years hands-on experience working in shop and construction site environments that utilize ASME code requirements

-ASQ Certification as a Quality Engineer

-Experience interacting with shop inspectors, shop employees, project managers, sub-contract inspectors, third party inspectors and customer representatives

-Superior verbal written skills

-Previous ISO 9001 or NQA-1 implementation experience is a plus

-Experience working with ASME Section VIII with detailed knowledge and experience of welding and fabrication of vessels and piping per the requirements of ASME Sections V, VIII, IX and ASME B31.1 B31.3.

-Working knowledge of AWS structural codes is desirable

-Prior welding inspection and procedure design knowledge, including AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification

-ISO Auditor certification or the ability to secure.

-NDE certification to Level 2 types VT, PT, RT, UT or the ability to secure.

-Lean Six Sigma certification or ability to secure at Black Belt level.
