Quality Engineer Job in Shropshire, Midlands Uk

Working as part of the wider Quality Team, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer to assist the Quality Department in achieving the key objective, to develop into the market leader in quality by becoming the customer top choice for quality.

You will have responsibility to actively contribute to the company's aims and objectives, and the principles of Company Production System (People, Quality, Velocity and Cost). Your main responsibility is to facilitate the rapid closure and verification of customer and internally generated Quality related issues.

This is a high profile business critical project and therefore will require a confident and highly motivated individual, capable of working independently in representing and delivering their stream of the project.

The Role:

Experience of FMEA, Control Plans, Equipment Specification, Risk Assessments, APQP, PPAP, 8D, working within an ISO and TS environment.

Leading timely root cause corrective actions - E/I/PCA (Emergency, Interim and Permanent Corrective Action) implementation for customer quality issues and internally generated defects by working with operations, design and engineering teams.

Internal Continuous Improvement support and ownership.

Quality improvement.

Customer contact and relationship development in partnership with product support and Process Control Engineering.

Data gathering and manipulation for reporting.

Warranty investigations.

The importance will be in the approach and attitude to internal quality and the internal customer base. You should be able to leverage key relationships.

Requirements:

Essential:
Educated to HNC level or equivalent experience.
Good verbal, influencing and numerical skills.
Competent PC skills i.e. use of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, E-mail (Lotus Notes), and other corporate based systems.
Assembly or manufacturing engineering background is essential.

Desirable:
Experience of operational organisation and processes would be advantageous.
Previous experience in a Quality or Engineering role highly desirable.
Previous experience with complex engineering products would be a distinct advantage.
Knowledge of advanced quality tools and internal quality systems.
