Utilimaster is an industry leading manufacturer of walk-in vans and truck bodies. GENERAL SUMMARY: Assist in implementing and maintaining internal and supplier quality programs with strategic initiatives and insure contract requirements are being met with regard to quality at a minimum total cost. Duties include: corrective action investigation, supplier evaluation and certification, process audits, and ongoing support to manufacturing. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist all functions in reducing the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ). Lead the Supplier evaluation/certification process. Lead multi-functional teams to investigate failures and implement verified corrective action. Develop quality inspection methods and procedures to meet contractual requirements. Review drawing and process changes for impact to quality levels. Participate in MRB process to determine final disposition of non-conforming material. Assist in training and development of subordinates within the quality department. Assist with quality assurance segment of new employee orientation. Job Requirements: Bachelor degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience is required as a minimum. 3+ years experience in Six Sigma, Lean, and Automotive is required. Experience with implementation of ISO/QS 9000 or TS16949 is preferred. American Society for Quality, ASQ-Quality Engineer Certification is helpful. Layout inspection skills, using all types of inspection equipment. Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications including a working knowledge of American National Standard Institute Y14.5M (Geometric Dimensioning Tolerance) Ability to evaluate quality systems based on the intent of the specification required.
