Quality Assurance Engineer (Medical Devices)

My client is the medical devices subsidiary of one the world's largest healthcare companies.

The Cork plant employs 650 staff (in manufacturing, global operations and RD) and is going through a major re-organization as over 10 product lines are being transferred on from a sister site. The plan is to double the size of the Cork plant in 2012, and the plant includes RD and Innovation Centre's for the world.

This role will manage the quality function for one of the business units and will lead a team of at least 5 Quality Manufacturing Engineers on the support of high-volume mechanical based manufacturing. The QA Manufacturing Engineer role is a mix of quality line support and managing quality process improvement projects using Data Risk Analysis tools such as FMEA, DoE and Six Sigma.

Suitable candidates will have at least 3-5 years quality engineer experience within an FDA regulated environment (e.g. medical devices, pharmaceutical, healthcare) and will have extensive quality line support (including audit preparation and CAPA experience), as well as quality process improvement experience using Risk Analysis tools such as FMEA and DoE.

Salary range is c. €45,000 - €55,000 depending on relevant experience.

Requirements:

· Must be Degree qualified in a quality, engineering, science or similar subject

· Must have at least 3-5 years quality engineer experience, ideally within an FDA regulated environment, or similar world class manufacturing environment (ideally medical devices, pharmaceutical, electronic manufacturing, semiconductor, etc).

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· A track record of root causing quality issues using FMEA, DoE and CAPA / SCAR tools.

· A track record of installing a managing quality continuous improvement projects
