Quality Improvement Engineer Job

The Quality Inspection Engineer (QIE) leads the development, qualification and certification of factory equipment, test equipment and processes that support Service Call (SCR) reduction, Total Cost Out, labor productivity, and New Product Introduction (NPI). Essential Responsibilities Quality Leader for design and lean quality plans and equipment including: quality equipment, Standard Work, Workstation Design and Layout, operator measurement / presentation interfaces and visual data displays. Provide technical leadership, project ownership and in-depth expertise to scope, manage costs, planning and schedules for First Piece Inspection, Qualification, metrology systems / gaging, test equipment, quality information systems following the NPI process and Manufacturing Review disciplines. Certify processes / tooling / equipment to contractual and Six Sigma standards. Develop and implement quality, data and test plans to ensure sustained control of Process Critical to Quality features (CTQ's.). Support the factory transitions and launch of new products until steady state. Qualifications/Requirements: Technical degree or significant equivalent experience 5 years demonstrated project management / implementation experience of quality projects. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects from schedule, budgetary, milestone and review requirements. Demonstrated accomplishments showing results-driven methodology, analytical methods, schedule achievement, team work. Experience in metrology / measurement systems, electrical testing and controls, metal fabrication, finishing, polyurethane, foam, plastics, assembly, controls / electronics, hermetic systems. Significant experience in a manufacturing plant environment Must be able to work in a cross-functional team environment with salaried and hourly team members to meet the needs of operators, the project and the business Demonstrated training and experience in Lean manufacturing practices Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Desired Characteristics Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt certification (GE employees only).
