Qualifications : · Previous quality control experience required. · Thorough knowledge of plastic defects such as short shots, flash, splay, sinks, etc. · Able to use various types of precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gage pins, height gages, etc. · Basic SPC and math skills required. · Basic blueprint interpretation skills required. · Able to stand for prolonged hours. · Able to bend, stoop pick up boxes weighing 50 lbs. · General computer skills required. · Effective communication skills required. · Reliable, dependable, team player. General Description : Inspects products to assure compliance to established quality criteria and customer requirements. Identify and isolate non-conforming product. Inform manufacturing of processes producing non-conforming product. Responsibilities : l. Performs first piece and re-start inspections. 2. Performs final inspection activities of all products as described in work instructions. Approves product using colored stamp. 3. Responsible for identifying non-conforming material with a red tag. Assures proper containment measures are implemented. 4. Performs dock audits. 5. Performs filing duties of quality records. 6. Reports any ?out of calibration? equipment to Quality Manager. 7. Communicates shift change-over details with on-coming shift. 8. Assists with training efforts of production personnel using visual aids and work instructions. 9. Performs receiving inspection on purchased components as required. 10. Performs other tasks assigned by Quality Manager. Summary : The Inspector?s authority covers all aspects of product quality up to and including the right to make the recommendation to stop production. The Inspector has the right to place product on hold when he/she feels the product does not meet established quality criteria and/or the customer?s requirements. The Inspector shall keep Shift Supervisor informed should this occur. The Quality Inspector shall maintain a professional work ethic and code of conduct with all employees at all times. It is the responsibility of all employees to work together using a team oriented approach to resolve quality issues. As in all businesses there are rare circumstances that the Supervisor or management personnel may assign miscellaneous jobs. All hourly employees must perform these duties as long as they conform to the Fair Labor and Safety regulations of the National Trade and Business Association. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 3RD SHIFT
