General Summary
To perform inspection on all parts, assemblies, completed products, raw materials and vendor products, ensuring compliance with Company and customer standards. Verifies that all elements of the product meet the specifications of the product design by utilizing non-destructive testing and / or using measurement instruments in coordination with design specifications. To receive, check in and forward materials, supplies and equipment to the end user or next processing station. Monitors special process operations to verify compliance, and documents all activities in writing.
Performance Standards (Essential Duties and Responsibilities)
1. Must be able to meet all performance standards, qualifications, and have the required knowledge and skills of Inspector Level 2.
2. Conducts a variety of visual inspections and dimensional checks, including making required inspection on complicated machine parts, machine part assemblies and competed products. Performs first run, floor and final inspections as required, to assure items meet required standards and conform to manufacturing specifications.
3. Inspects raw materials for suitability for machining.
4. May conduct non-destructive testing of parts, using designated testing equipment.
5. Conducts non-destructive testing of parts, using appropriate testing equipment.
May monitor designated tests of parts, assemblies or products on floor when directed.
6. Uses a variety of precision measuring and inspection instruments, equipment and gauges to conduct precision inspections and/or tests. Works from complex blueprints. Performs required computations to check measurements.
7. Stamps or otherwise approves acceptable items as inspected. Rejects product or determines need for rework.
8. Maintains required records and prepares all paperwork relating to inspections.
9. Maintains assigned work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
10. Operates fork truck, crane and power equipment.
11. Makes required layouts on parts, forgings or castings, and set up tooling to perform needed inspections.
12. May provide assistance to other Inspectors as needed.
13. Completes required identification of parts and material - marks parts with numbers and associated identification requirements.
14. Interacts with customers and other third party inspectors as necessary.
15. Operates PC as necessary - uses Baan, Agile and the time/attendance system
