Quality Inspector needed for Orlando, FL! Position Summary: Coordinate and perform Source Inspection functions including: Quality Audits, evaluations, reviews, improvements and customer collaboration associated with projects and processes. Review inspect CCA product, harnesses, wiring, machined complex mechanical parts and assemblies, BTS (Built to Specification) products @ contract manufacturers and initiate appropriate actions. Assist in reviewing QA processes, Work Instructions, Quality Records and Source Inspection instructions. Establish and maintain artifacts for established Quality Assurance processes. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Quality Audits: Participate (as required) in internal, external and customer audits of products (i.e.; FAI /SI) and processes to assure compliance to requirements in accordance with AS 9101C or ISO 9001:2008. Formal certification in performing quality audits. Corrective/Preventative Action System: Coordinate in the investigation of nonconforming product (field returns, systemic internal nonconformance?s, supplier issues, etc.) to determine root cause and corrective (or preventative) action plans necessary to avoid reoccurrence. Handling and follow-up of deviations. Process Improvement: Participate with Process Improvement Teams (PIT) in the continuous improvement of existing processes for Contract Manufacturers COMPANY. Supplier Quality Assurance: Execute qualification surveys to assure that suppliers are qualified to provide the specified product, service or process. Conduct on-site quality surveys, First Article Inspections (FAI) and Source Inspections, as required. Manufacturing Support: Serve as an electrical/mechanical quality assurance representative on the Material Review Board (MRB), which may include tracking of MRB decisions to assure the required actions are completed prior to final approval. Configuration Documentation Control: Monitor Control system to assure change control process allowing identification of product document configuration at Contract Manufacturers site. Recruit local QA Inspectors activate, as necessary. Periodically provide reports to customers (Rafael) including a semi- annual overall Quality Report. May be required to support other activities to whatever extent their skills and knowledge may allow. Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: Formal technical education as mechanics and /or electronics engineer or senior technician in mechanics and /or electronics. Predominance in production and inspection processes in at least one of the following fields: Machining; Assembly of Circuit Boards and Electromechanical assemblies; Harnesses Wiring. Extensive familiarity in special processes such as: coating, welding, thermal treatments, casting and riveting. Extensive experience in testing processes of Sub-assemblies, BTS products and Build-To-Print (BTP) items. Proficient in the Source Inspection and evaluation of hardware and associated contract manufacturing processes and providing daily reports. Ability to work with others as part of a team assisting in the resolution of product and process quality issues. Requires good written and verbal communication skills with an ability to understand define and communicate issues in a clear and concise manner. No less than 10 year?s QA Source Inspection experience plus higher level education; Experience in Contract Manufacturing CCA Inspection, in accordance with IPC-610, IPC-620, J-STD-001; Class 3 ISO9001 or AS 9101C processes required. Defense industry experience is a plus. Internal Auditor Certification a plus. Certified Quality Engineer and ASQ Member is a plus. Must be able to work ?over-time, as needed?, including numerous overnight travel to subcontractors sites. Goals and Objectives: Establish goals and objectives with supervisor to be evaluated on an annual basis. Education and/or Experience: Associate Degree in Engineering or related Science with a minimum of ten (10) years experience in Quality Assurance of electrical mechanical assemblies. Practical experience may be considered as an acceptable alternate to formal training under exceptional circumstances on a case by case basis. Training Required: Orientation ESD (Electro Static Discharge) Handling of Printed Circuit Boards Inspection Sampling Plans Electronic Time Sheet ISO-9001 and /or AS 9100 Overview Specialized Skills: Read and comprehend engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation and contracts. Capable of using related measurement tools (micrometers, CMM, microscope, digital test equipment, etc., as required). Possess above average written and oral communication and inter-personal skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications software databases. Reasoning Ability: Ability to analyze problems and apply knowledge of quality and contract requirements, manufacturing processes, inspection concepts and AQL acceptance criteria. Physical Demands: 25% desk work 75% walking and standing while interfacing with Manufacturing and others. Work Environment: ·Production floor subcontractors sites. Work Schedule: Full-Time. Nine day /80 hour bi-week periods or other standard schedule as set by corporate policy. Over-time ? as needed. *Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor or management. 85% travel Pay - $35-40k/yr 6 month contract to hire Local candidates will be considered as no per diem is available.
