Quality Manager

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to manage the Quality Statistics group to ensure support to process improvement, quality and new product activities, prioritize resource allocation, budget expenses and promote the use of performance excellence and capability analysis.   Specific areas include overall process improvement and development, raw materials, materials processing, forming, drying, firing, and finishing.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

·         Supervisor, 1:1’s, team meetings   

·         PDR and MBO Assessments

·         Talent Planning/Career Coaching

·         Resource Priority and Allocation

·         Project Management

·         Budget Expenses

·         Conflict Resolution

·         Performance Excellence Champion-Set objectives, promote Six Sigma Principles, Analyze reports, Facilitate Quarterly Steering Team, Pex Champion team,  Coach project leaders

·         Liaison to Division Quality for special requests and analysis

·         Support Annual Quality Audit (Division Engineering Representation)

·         Ability to take the lead and use data to help solve problems, analyze, and trouble shoot production issues

·         Manage and Develop team and periodical need to lead or support the following:

* Validate both empirical and fundamentally based statistical models

* Perform Design of Experiments both in design, execution and analysis.

* Analyze historical data and be able to draw conclusions/inferences

* Ability to integrate learning into production and validate results

* Knowledge of manufacturing and associated quality systems

* Capable of developing, executing and analyzing MSA’s and capability studies

* Providing leadership toward overall process/product improvements

* SPC SQC implementation in a production environment

* Capable of working with a large variety of people including research, development, engineering and manufacturing while understanding each of their respective views and concerns

* Strong communications and presentation Skills

Requirements:

Travel Requirements:

~10-30% travel to other CET manufacturing facilities including international – project specific.

 Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

Typically 8-5, but some off hours support required

 Required Skills:

·         Strong leadership skills

·         Supervisory/Coaching skills

·         Knowledge of DOE and analysis of experimental data

·         Analysis skills to examine historical data

·         Ability to integrate learning into production

·         Experience with Six Sigma DMAIC principles

·         Knowledge of manufacturing systems

·         Knowledge of MSA’s

·         Knowledge of SPC

Desired Skills:

·         Knowledge of materials processing

·         Experience in a manufacturing environment

·         Can provide and work toward a vision of “excellence in statistical practice” within the organization and work with individuals and leadership to make progress toward that vision.

Education and Experience:

·         B.S/B.A. in Engineering or Statistics or Mathematics + 5 yrs experience in manufacturing, Quality, and  Supervisor experience a must

·         M.S./M.A. in Engineering or  Statistics or Mathematics + 10 yrs. experience applying statistics and leadership desired
