Quality Manager

Collaborates with process owners to identify and implement continuous improvements in our standard manufacturing processes that ensure our ability to deliver products of superior quality to our C/customers.

Responsibilities:

· Ensures C/customers consistently receive products of superior quality in order to protect and enhance our value proposition. This includes developing methods to measure C/customer satisfaction and internal process capability and collaborating with process owners to ensure all products consistently meet standards and design specifications.

· Researches, defines, and shares across business teams best practices in quality assurance in order to develop and sustain standard practices that encompass the entire value stream (including sub-contract manufacturing) and ensure the integrity of our products. This includes applying lean six sigma tools and incorporating new technologies to advance process control to ensure products of superior quality are delivered to our C/customers.

· Develops and spreads metrology expertise throughout the team. This includes: providing expert advice to operations teams in the selection and qualification of measuring systems that balance meeting the accuracy of measurement required by design specifications with ease of use and flexibility needed to support lean manufacturing initiatives; and identifying the need for and providing training to quality technicians, production leaders and associates, suppliers, and process engineers as required.

· Provides operational leadership for the quality technicians, including associate selection, training, coaching, development, planning, performance management, conflict management and recognition. Fosters a positive climate that promotes associate well-being and team effectiveness across the Finance Organization and Hypertherm.

· Qualifies new and existing production processes.

Qualifications:

Required-

· 5-8 years experience in a role with responsibility for quality in an ISO environment manufacturing precision products; leadership experience; B.S. or equivalent; experience using lean/six sigma tools; thorough understanding of GDT, statistics, and defining effective measurement systems.

· Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, solid technical acumen, demonstrated ability to focus on the C/customer.
