Our client is a very well established but growing manufacturer of large industrial equipment that is used all across the world. The company is focused on maintaining their best in class status and driven to continue their domination of market share in this sector.

 

The Role:

Our Client is looking for a Quality Manager to support accelerated growth and increased global product demand. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead the execution and establishment of all internal and external quality initiatives. You will be the primary resource for all Quality Control and Quality Assurance initiatives.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

·         Working closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Production Floor Personnel, and Design Engineering to identify process and product quality issues and implement corrective actions

·         Managing a team of Quality Engineers providing support and guidance in their day-day work

·         Acting as the primary ambassador for 5S, 6-Sigma, and other Quality and Continuous Improvement initiatives

·         Liaising with suppliers to mitigate supplier quality issues and assist in integrating suppliers into corporate quality initiatives

·         Investigating customer complaints/requests  and warranty issues and managing the resolution

  

The Candidate: 

The ideal candidate will be very well versed in formal quality control and quality assurance methodologies. We are looking for someone who can work very independently to find and resolve quality issues ideally before they occur.

 

The individual selected for this role must have:  

·         A university degree in Engineering i.e. MUST be an EIT or have/be eligible for P.Eng designation

·         A minimum of 8 years of experience working as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment. Must be knowledgeable in metal fabrication, machining, ISO 90001:2000, quality audits, metrological instruments, inspection processes, SPC, TQM, document control, process change, and change leadership

·         A minimum of 3-5 years experience managing engineers within a manufacturing background

·         Experience working with formal process improvement and quality methodologies i.e. Lean, 6-Sigma, DFT and ISO

·         Exceptiona organizational skills along with above average written and oral communication skills

·         A focused commitment to team-work, safety, and environmental sustainability
