*Quality Manager~ Job in Morristown, Tennessee US
This opening is with Alcoa Howmet, a division of Alcoa Power Propulsion at the Morristown, TN facility. The Quality Manager will report directly to the Plant Manager with dotted line reporting into the Business Unit Quality Management Team. In this role you manage and direct the Quality program at this plant of approximately 525 employees. The Quality Manager provides leadership and coordinates strategic business initiatives required to drive process improvement across the organization in the achievement of an operational excellence environment. This is accomplished through application of knowledge in quality systems, driving adherence to disciplined systems and robust processes, and focused standardization of best practices; in conjunction with managing to a cohesive set of key performance metrics that provide an objective perspective on the business operating system health and effectiveness. The Quality Manager also creates and maintains cross functional relationships needed to foster a proactive engagement culture amongst the business operations team and a productive working relationship with customers.
Basic Qualifications

- Must possess practical understanding of core processes in order to objectively and independently analyze problems, communicate effectively and facilitate problem solving activities.
- Ability to develop and maintain quality processes and systems that meet both customer and regulatory requirements and work for the business. Ensure quality system metrics and key process indicators are maintained and that the results are used to drive continuous improvement.

- Job Competence:
- Strong experience and proficiency in understanding ISO 9000 and/or AS9100 along with knowledge in Statistical Tools and Techniques, NDE, APQP and Measurement System Analysis.
- Lead cross functional quality and process improvement initiatives utilizing the Alcoa Process Management methodology.
- Ability to build a practical and effective means of driving continuous improvement and compliance responsibilities to the process activities where work is being done.
- Assure compliance to all applicable standards, business practices and documented procedures (including AS9100, ISO 9000) through an efficient and effective internal audit, corrective and preventative action management system.
- Work with all functions to ensure effective communication, corrective / preventative action and process improvement activities are coordinated. Ensure best practices and process improvements are communicated and consistently applied as appropriate.
- Track a cohesive set of key performance metrics that provide the team with actionable information to drive improvement in the process, focusing on the overall performance of the quality management system.
- Can effectively work through major and minor issues without getting emotionally disconnected with the issue and what is needed to resolve the issue professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Quality management related experience. (Masters preferred)
- Potential work experience in lieu of degree; ten-plus (10+) years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) or Quality Engineer (CQE) designation from ASQ or other recognized quality authorities preferred.
- Auditing Experience ISO 9001 / AS9100 (per AS9014):
- General Auditor (Internal) - Four (4) audits (total twenty (20) audit days) within the past three (3) years OR
- Aerospace Auditor (Third Party) - Four (4) years of aerospace industry experience within the past ten (10) years OR
- RAB Lead Auditor certification a plus
