Quality Manager

Randstad Business Support are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager for a Redditch based company who are involved in the food sector.

 

Key responsibilities include;

responding to customer needs and developing the Technical Systems necessary to support key requirements. To enhance our reputation as a high quality; customer focused food manufacturer, through the continued development of our quality operating systems.

Job Responsibilities:
 

Duties and responsibilities will include the following; they are not in order of priority.  In addition to these duties and responsibilities, employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

 

·         Oversee the day to day operation of the factory quality system ensuring the product and process conformance against specified limits prior to product release through a comprehensive specification system based upon the BRC standard and HACCP principles.

 

·         Resolution of technical and quality issues on site.

 

·         Manage site audits from customers and regulatory bodies.

 

·         Ensure that the norms for product and processes are correctly defined and documented for the factory and are available at the appropriate control points for monitoring and recording purposes.

 

·         Develop our Supplier Quality Assurance Auditing Programme and build supplier relationships in order to ensure safe, consistent and high quality products throughout the supply chain.

 

·         Managing the Goods Inwards Department and developing effective systems to manage raw materials through the business, with due regard to customer requirements and our positive release pre-requisites.

 

·         Overseeing the Blending Department to ensure that product safety and efficacy is maintained through effective monitoring, including Internal Audits.

 

·         Implementing best practice policies, including the development and maintenance of our accreditation status, i.e. BRC, GMP etc.

 

·         Ensure that accurate and up to date specifications exist for materials and finished products.  Conduct Supplier Quality Assurance Audits/Questionnaires and report findings.

 

·         Provide Technical Support on legal foods issues, requiring internal and external liaison with Government and Regulatory Bodies i.e. EHO, TSO, etc.

 

·         Trend and investigate supplier, consumer, trade and environmental health complaints, introducing successful improvement actions to reduce and to eliminate them.

 

·         Ensure the appropriate and timely release of raw materials, intermediary and finished products in line with the Factory Procedures.  Block non-conforming materials and products at any stage in the supply chain to prevent delivery to customers.

 

·         Ensure the company carries out Risk Assessment of all Major Serious Allergens to establish the likelihood of contamination.  Particular attention shall be made to cross-contamination.

 

·         To undertake a study to ensure that the Process Validation is evaluated on a risk assessed basis.

 

·         To provide a communication route for customers on issues regarding product safety and legality.

 

·         To provide training and coaching for employees to improve the technical skill base within the business.

 

·         Effectively manage employees within the Technical and Quality function, including responsibility for staff appraisals, training and development and disciplinary action.

 

·         The Technical Director will deputise in the case of absenteeism.
