A vacancy now exists for a full time Quality Project Engineer.. The role involves working on Nissan projects as well as supporting the introduction of all new projects. Reporting to the Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the quality approval process of new products into the business, working in line with the company systems and programme management procedures to ensure that the approval is in line with the QCD targets and timings, and to the Customer PPAP PSW Requirements.
The Main Responsibilities are:
- Establish Quality function approval plans in line with the programme master plans
- Work in line with the company EPMS (European Project Management system) to deliver quality requirements of the programme and PPAP approvals in line with customers requirements
- Utilise “8D” problem solving techniques on project issues where required, coordinating the team activity to satisfactory resolutions.
- Involvement in teams developing and constructing PFMEAs and control plans.
Skills/ Experience / Qualifications:
- Experience in dealing with OEM’s.
- Previous demonstrated APQP experience.
- Ideally qualified to degree level (HNC/HND as a minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Experience in the quality function or Manufacturing Engineering function within the Automotive Industry as well as demonstrated previous experience on Project management
- Previous automotive experience. Heat Exchange manufacturing experience is desirable.
- Be self motivated, able to work with the minimum of supervision
- Experience of working with TS16949
- Proficient IT Skills - Microsoft Applications.
- Self-motivated, well-organised individual, must have a robust, positive attitude with a proven track record of excelling against key performance indicators
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Sound commercial understanding
- Outstanding organisational skills
- Have the ability to work under pressure
- Possess the ability to work with personnel at all levels within the company and with customers
- Responsible for complying with all health, safety and environmental systems in the area including the ZIP process.
Other Requirements:
- Must be prepared to work overtime
- The role will require the successful candidate to represent Calsonic Kansei when dealing with customers and suppliers
- Prepared to travel to other CK sites, customers or suppliers including both UK and overseas as and when required
- Possess the ability to work effectively efficiently as an individual or within a cross functional cross regional team
