The company was founded in 1967 and its first manufacturing facility was open for business April 1, 1968. The company manufactured titanium wire to be made into aerospace fasteners. Since then, Dynamet has grown to be a leading domestic and international supplier of titanium alloy products for the aerospace, medical, consumer, motorsports and recreation industries. The markets for titanium are rapidly expanding and Dynamet is growing to meet the new demands.
- Assist with meeting customer certification requirements using AS9100, customer audits and corrective actions.
- Recommend improvements in process and product quality to increase First Time Through (FTT).
- Provide support in the establishment of Critical to Quality measures (CTQ), Key Process Characteristics (KCC), Key Control Characteristics (KCC), control plans and FMEA.
- Increase customer satisfaction by reducing claims, remakes, scrap and deviations from standard work. Identify and recommend improvements in critical work center Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
- Effectively detect and solve standard quality issues to prevent recurrence using appropriate quality strategies, tools, and techniques with assistance of higher level Quality Specialists.
- Stablize processes and implement statistical process controls (SPC) to establish and maintain process capability using statistical methods. Apply inspection, measurement and sampling methods and participates in method improvements.
- Participate on a team to develop robust processes as part of the New Product Introduction.
- Four year college degree or demonstrated equivalent experience as determined by department management. 1+ years of relevant experience, AS9100 and ISO9000 experience required. Strong skills in statistics helpful.
- PC skills required – MS Office Suite, including Adobe Acrobat and Access.
- Ability to analyze possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.
- Problem solving skills should include: check sheet, Pareto diagram, cause-and-effect diagram, graphs, control charts, histogram and scatter diagram.
- Ability to apply continuous improvement methods, such as Practical Problem Solving (PPS), Six Sigma, Lean principles and Error Proofing as team participant or facilitator.
- Candidate is required to be organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decision. Work in a fast-paced and ever changing manufacturing work environment. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and basic project management skills.
