Quality Specialist/SQF Coordinator

This position will be responsible for assisting with maintaining compliance of the SQF/HACCP Program, Kosher Program, and all local, state, and federal Food Safety regulations and policies governing the Quality Assurance, and rabbinical supervision of the Ogden bakery. Use change management skills to lead improvements in the Food Safety Program. Assist in product risk assessments and HACCP planning for various ingredients, processes, and products. MAIN DUTIES: Manage and oversee the SQF/HACCP program and conduct routine audits of such per schedule and communicate findings to responsible parties. Help coordinate effective Product Safety policies and procedures with multiple departments including Quality, Product Safety, Operations, RD, Warehouse, and Procurement. Assist the Food Safety Manager with development and coordination of action plans to reduce or eliminate the Food Safety failures during manufacturing by employing the latest techniques and equipment available. Ensure that policies are maintained by implementing plant procedures and systems to ensure that products meet all desired expectations. Organize, lead, and develop the SQF Department Champion Team members. Work with the Consumer Response Team to analyze consumer feedback as it relates to Product Safety. Help investigate, develop, and recommend action plans to changes in procedures and work processes leading to improved Product Safety. Assist in the design safety analysis of new products as needed. Develop Food Safety and Sanitation programs minimizing risk from all regulatory agencies. Establish a program to inspect all incoming raw materials. Analyze all raw materials specifications and recommend changes to ensure the production of a consistent, unadulterated product. Help maintain the product Kosher Certification system to ensure all ingredients comply with specific rabbinical requirements. Responsible for Food Quality, Food Defense and Food Safety. Conduct training as needed for Food Safety Programs. Understand the operations of the production lines, all plant GMP?s, required quality testing, and production specifications and assist the Food Safety Manager in compliance to these items. Other duties as assigned. SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: Must possess good communication and math skills. Computer literate in Microsoft operations (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
