Quality Supervisor (1388)
Location: Lewisburg, TN 37091
Description
- Direct departmental team members in the accomplishment of stated objectives.
- Establish and communicate departmental team member’s individual performance expectations and objectives.
- Supervise and assign task to QA Engineers and technicians.
- Investigate and resolve customer concerns / complaints with respect to defective or suspect product that has been delivered to them and establish and facilitate defect containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and provide feedback / responses to the customer.
- Coordinate data collection via testing and measurement with QA lab technicians to assist with root cause analysis and defect resolution.
- Create and / or review and submit all required documentation necessary for PPAP or PSW approval for each production level part sent to the customer.
- Coordinate and / or conduct functional trials with customer when needed for PSW, PPAP, or design change approvals.
- Customer relations including customer audits, soshin meeting and joint checks.
- Supplier relations including supplier audits for suspect material, in-house meetings.
10. Preparation of PPAP documentation for customers.
11. Review and approval of supplier PPAPs.
12. Review and determine part quality acceptability and provide limit samples to manufacturing as needed.
13. Conduct process review of manufacturing lines and consult with production manager on process maintenance and improvement.
14. Supervisory duties including timecards, training, handling employee issues, vacation approval, interviewing, evaluating, etc.
15. Setting up new systems such as receiving inspection, dock audit, etc.
16. Preparing internal documents such as program review materials, budgets, daily, weekly, or monthly quality reporting docs.
17. Communicates frequently with internal and external contacts on various issues.
18. Performs other duties as necessary.
Required Skills
The PQA (Plant Quality Assurance) Supervisor II is responsible for controlling, correcting, and ensuring an acceptable quality level product is produced at the assigned plant. Also, this position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and delegation of work to any quality engineering staff or quality technicians who are the position’s direct reports. Position also performs some of the duties of quality engineer and supplier quality engineer function.
Additionally the position ensures maximum floor coverage for production in a timely and effective manner. This position interacts with quality managers and engineers as well as production staff routinely to stay abreast of current concerns.
Intermediate to advanced experience (beyond basic data entry) working with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint, and other presentation applications and/or software.
Required Experience
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline and generally three plus years experience in related field

- An advanced degree and generally two plus years of experience in related field.
- Certification or license is required in some areas.
- Have experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications.
- Have strong communication, administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
- Be able to pass all background checks and pre-employment tests, including any required drug test.
- Be able to maintain the confidentiality of any information s/he encounters.
