Eaton Corporation in Beltsville, MD has an opening for a Quality Supervisor. This person is functionally responsible for designing, developing, coordinating and deploying work instructions/procedures and associated process controls for the assigned product line/family; develops process improvements and cost control programs throughout the plant; reviews customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure compliance with stated requirements; provides technical support to operations, customers, and suppliers as needed and provide training and supervise others as required. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Essential Functions:
A. Completes Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
B. Define, specify, and implement quality standards and procedures for manufacturing processes.
C. Lead or provide technical advice and counsel to cross-functional teams assigned to process improvement projects / problem solving teams / product development teams.
D. Provide technical guidance to less experienced Quality Engineers.
E. Assure that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements.
F. Develop and implement corrective actions including verification activities.
G. Host Customer and Third Party Auditors as needed.
H. Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.
I. Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards. Ensure these documents align with the recognized Aerospace Quality System Standard as well as Eaton Objectives, Policies and Procedures.
J. Supervise other personnel as assigned or required.
K. Other duties as assigned
Position Criteria:
• Ability to read and understand blue prints, specifications, and requirements including GDT.
• Thorough understanding of machining, welding, assembly operations, gauging, SPC, APQP, and quality assurance systems (ISO 9001, AS9100).
• Experience in performing Quality Audits.
• Experience using PC configured with MS Windows OS. Familiarity with MS Office software is desired.
Preferred Criteria:
• Project Management experience is preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (MOQ/OE) is preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
