Quality, Technical & Engineering Manager Job in Alfreton, Midlands Uk
As a market leader in the UK, our client has a unique opportunity for an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Manager, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
The successful applicant will be educated to degree level or equivalent, with a minimum of 15 years experience in trade and consumer finished tools and equipment.
The successful candidate will lead the product group across the whole quality, technical and regulatory agenda, and will develop and manage processes to control technical changes improvements, as well as managing quality issues, safety situations and conducting product risk analysis. You will liaise on a daily basis with key engineering colleagues in the UK and suppliers overseas.
In addition, you will work with Service and Parts Managers evaluating and reporting on warranty / returns in the supply chain in order to drive product improvements, with the aim of improving warranty percentages as well as the quality image of the brand
You will control the engineering testing and development, conducting testing suitable for and applicable to the European market place and usage.
As the contact point for communications into any regulatory authority responsible for areas such as Machinery, LVD EMC, Noise and Emissions and any other relevant Directives, you must have proven experience in this sector.
This is a highly challenging and varied role that will suit only the most dynamic and committed of managers with demonstrable experience in power tools, welding machines, garage equipment including other consumer and trade related tools and equipment.
You will be expected to oversee the engineering function on all sites and as needed be involved in the supply chain, which may entail overseas travel to ensure supply factories are manufacturing to our requirements.
