Job Function
To support the Quality and manufacturing functions with activities including inspection of Aerospace and Automotive parts, First Article Inspection / PPAP, document control / archiving, contract review, leading root cause and corrective/preventative action meetings as well as resource management.
Main roles and responsibilities
• Control, issue and archive drawings, specifications and instructions.
• Inspection of aerospace, automotive, industrial and marine products.
• Working with / development of KPI's and publish / report measures of performance.
• Able to work 'hands on' in data gathering and to provide shop floor support in the execution of corrective / preventative activities.
• Perform FAI and PPAP inspection reports.
• Instigate and co-ordinate root cause analysis / corrective actions and manage responses.
• Performing Quality contract reviews.
• Promote a safe working environment.
• Support the Senior Quality Engineer in the role out of Quality initiatives.
• Review and plan the inspection resource to meet the future plan.
• Implement and sustain performance management.
• First line disciplinary / grievance of direct reports.
• Chair daily toolbox meetings.
Qualifications, Experience Characteristics
• Shall have a minimum of 3 years experience within either an aerospace or automotive environment.
• Must be computer literate with skills in Microsoft word and Excel.
• Shall have a proven background in 8D analysis and/or 5 Why techniques.
• Good organisational skills and competent analytical techniques.
• Must be capable of prioritising and multi tasking in a pressurised environment.
