Quant Data Analyst – Linux, SQL, Data, Algorithms, HFT, Trading

Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Data Specialist to join our high profile client.

One of the largest Quant Investment managers globally, with around £20 billion under management. They are mainly quant based but have High frequency and systematic exposure. The role sits with the development and trading team on the bleeding edge of technology.
The Data Analyst will support market data, trading model testing and production related requests from within the company. This is a technical supporting role. The perspective candidate will spend about 70% of time addressing the requests, and work with developers to enhance the related processes, while devote about 30% of time doing development. You will test models, data sets and trades all to increase efficiency and flow.
You will also be responsible for the maintenance of all data as well as upgrading and applying user requested modifications. On a day to day basis you will be expected to monitor various trading model testing processes, perform troubleshooting and apply fixes or escalate to 2nd level support.

Candidates MUST have:
?    Degree Comp Sci, Maths Stats etc
?    find/grep/awk/sed/ls/cut/cp/tar/ps/ssh etc.
?    Familiar with Vi or Emacs for editing files
?    Ideally Scrioting
?    C/C++, common algorithms and data structures (binary tree, sorting, etc) and Object Oriented design.
?    Experience working under Linux environment.
?    Be familiar with compilers, debuggers under Linux (gcc, g++, gdb)
?    Have knowledge of basic statistics/probability, familiar with concepts such as correlation, standard deviation and how to calculate
?    Be familiar with database operations (with MySQL), including schema building, query, data loading, backup, restore
?    Be familiar with web site maintenance, web server configuration, CGI (Apache, CSS, HTML, ModPerl/Mason)
