Quant developer – electronic market making recruitment

 The quantitative developer will be developing the technology and implementing the strategies behind an industry-leading electronic market making business.  This role interacts with traders and quants to define, implement, test, monitor and improve our trading models.

Main responsibilities:

• Building a high-frequency trading system for European Rates, working closely with the traders and quants to develop a framework that they can use to investigate and implement strategies.

• Building systems for trading in lower-frequency electronic venues, leveraging existing teams and systems for connectivity and integration.

• Work with the traders and quants to build pre- and post-trade analysis tools, visualization tools and data access APIs.

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal quantitative developer would have the following experience:

• Senior developer/quant developer on a financial software development team (at least 3 years in finance)

• Commercial development experience in at least 8 years total of C++ and preferably one other language.

• Front-office trading system development (trading/business logic), or  Automated trading system development (programs trading without human intervention)

• Exposure to quantitative programming languages such as R, Matlab or S-Plus

• Working directly with traders and quants to build robust solutions to business problems

 Proven ability to communicate with less technical users to understand requirements and implement appropriate solutions

• Successful track record of delivering working software quickly and improving it iteratively

• Strong interest in developments computing and trading technology and innovation

In addition, any experience with the following would be a plus:

• Low-latency/High-frequency trading systems, such as electronic market making or algorithmic execution

• Fixed Income (Cash, Swaps, Futures, Options, etc.)

• Functional programming languages and scripting, such as Scala, Clojure, F#, Haskel, perl, Bash, Python

• Agile development methodologies, such as Extreme Programming or Scrum
