Quant Researcher / Trader for London based CTA recruitment

The Company:

Has been trading live for over a decade, employing a fully systematic futures strategy, across global commodities, FX and financials. Currently managing just under $1Bn, they take a collaborative approach to researching, developing and implementing systematic trend following models.

 The Role:

They take an extremely research orientated approach and as such the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a strong background in a research focused role. This will ideally have encompassed exposure to a wide variety of asset classes. The candidate will also have worked in a leadership role: being in a position not only to research and develop strategies, but demonstrate an ability to work closely with others as well as to critique and lead other people’s research.

Strong programming skills are expected. The fund is completely systematic and as such this is essential for the smooth running of the operation. There is a core development group responsible for the infrastructure and overall programming.

The fund is currently relatively small, and as such the successful candidate will be working directly with the partners of the fund. Strong communication skills will be necessary as well as a strong sense of conviction and the ability to explain these ideas and philosophies.

Until this point, the fund has grown organically with members gradually taking on more and more responsibilities and autonomy within the fund. As such they see this hire as an important step in the fund’s growth and ability to diversify and strengthen their current position. The initial conversation will be with the partners of the fun, such that it is immediately clear whether or not there is a good fit, not only in terms of ability but also in terms of culture and approach.
