Quantitative Analyst recruitment
UBS Global Asset Management, a business division of UBS AG, is a large-scale asset manager with businesses well-diversified across regions, capabilities and distribution channels. UBS Global Asset Management offers a range of domestic equities, fixed income and multi-asset capabilities while accessing international, traditional and alternative solutions.
The Quantitative Analyst will be a key contributor to ensure UBS Global Asset Management accurately represents our investment capabilities to internal and external stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, there will be the opportunity to analyse markets and work with investment personnel or other internal stakeholders to develop materials for marketing or competitive analysis purposes. Hence, the successful candidate requires advanced excel skills, and to be comfortable with data manipulation and macros. The output is of high importance and critical for retaining and generating new clients. By way of example, the quantitative output is used in client presentations, client reporting, by financial intermediaries and to generate sales.
The core functions of the Quantitative Analyst are as follows:
- Learning about the data delivery service/business
- Extracting quantitative series from internal and external data sources
- Ensuring the accuracy of quantitative data series and obtaining appropriate sign offs
- Completing quantitative spreadsheets for clients, consultants and internal stakeholders
- Generating standardised reports for internal stakeholders
- Some simple programming
- Improving our quantitative processes
The following core skills and understandings are required:
- Attention to detail and analytical
- Understanding general finance concepts and asset classes
- The ability to perform basic programming
- Strong Excel Skills (Excel testing at interview stage)
- Experience using Access and SQL is desired.
