Quantitative Analyst – Risk Methodology recruitment

This involves among others:

* Reviewing new products/models with special emphasis on valuation and risk management.
* Detecting misunderstood and/or understated risks.
* Identifying the use of mathematically flawed models, quantifying errors and proposing more adequate solutions.
* Determining incorrectly specified models, i.e. mathematically correct models, which are not applicable to the given product and/or market.
* Developing prototypes of cutting edge models in C++ inside the team's benchmark library.
* Highlighting the potential risk when using wrong or inconsistent input values for model parameters, which are not readily quoted in the market (e.g. volatility skew, correlation).
* Performing general risk management functions in close collaboration with Market Risk Control (MRC): assessment of positions with significant model risk or non-standard risks, business approvals for complex trades, and other day-to-day activities related to risk methodology improvements.
* Assisting Business Unit Control (BUC) with the valuation of model-intensive trades and quantitative issues, in particular specifying valuation adjustments intended to capture model or parameter uncertainty.

For this role, you need the following skill set and experience:

* Masters degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, physics) is a prerequisite, PhD is a plus.
* Strong background in financial mathematics preferable.
* Good understanding of financial markets/products.
* Proficiency in C++.
* Experience in a similar role and more specifically in the modeling of FX derivatives is a plus.
* Ability to develop models in a timely manner, using innovation and common sense.

Furthermore, you have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and in particular, the ability to explain technical topics to a non-technical audience (e.g. explain how a certain model works without using equations). You are also well organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adhered to tight deadlines. You bring the ability to work in a team, to respond well under pressure, and to develop productive relationships. Your proactivity, enthusiasm and flexibility support you in performing successfully in this role.
