Quantitative Analyst – VP recruitment

A top tier Investment Bank are looking to recruit a VP Quantitative Analyst to work as part of the IPV Exotics (Independent Price Verification) team to deliver results to the business and assist colleagues with valuation and development work.

The ideal candidate will be the Quantitative IPV point of contact for Front Office, BUC, Market Risk, Model validation, Financial Control and Audit. Build a strong relationship with the FO trading, analytics team and other support units.

The role will require the ideal candidate to transition to a role focused on valuation of all Exotic IPV processes (core areas are IR/FX), become familiar with valuation methodology and value drivers, give quantitative advice and help for other asset classes IPV/BUC.

Key Responsibilities

* Work within the Exotic IPV team to deliver results to the business and assist colleagues with valuation and development work. Ensure completeness of parameters, products and portfolios covered by you. Deliver complete and accurate and timely results, obtaining all party agreement prior to the usual IPV month end meeting.
* Improve the current IPV process and models, check untested Exotic positions and if necessary extend the IPV.
* Work in a cooperative, team spirited manner using direct and open communication as much as possible, with your peers as well as superiors within IPV and with FO, Risk, BUC, LEA and other interfacing areas, considering what is in the best interest of the bank overall (no silos), while still always retaining the critical mindset of a member of the control function.
* Proactively work on own training needs.
* Work in projects and also manage small projects. Plus work on other topics such as OIS discounting, Analysis IPV, and IPV of trading strategies.

Candidate:
* In-depth understanding of Exotic Rates and FX products.
* Ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of quantitative knowledge for all asset classes.
* A strong understanding of Exotic products, Avid/Diva products, FO systems (Summit/Murex) and a desire to develop knowledge where 'gaps' may exist.
* An ability to communicate at all levels and to succinctly document and present ideas and concepts to all stakeholders, both within Finance and to the wider audience.
* The ability and confidence to question established processes and to positively influence discussions in order to improve workflows and efficiency across IPV.
* Ability to work to tight daily and monthly deadlines.
* A highly self motivated individual who is able to carry an idea from concept to implementation.
* Demonstrate a good attention to detail.
* Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, Access, VBA, SQL and an appreciation of each systems capabilities to perform in a Finance environment.
