Quantitative Developer at commodity hedge fund

 

Commodity hedge fund located in Portland Oregon is currently seeking exceptionally talented Quant Developer to work with a team of scientists and engineers to help design and implement our next-generation systems for trading and execution, as well as portfolio, risk and data management systems.  We are a small, dynamic company with diverse needs and outstanding opportunities.  Successful applicants will work with a team of elite trader / quants in a stimulating, collegial environment.

 

Challenging project work may include various mission-critical areas, such as analytic tools development, algorithmic trading, real-time risk management, straight through processing of trades, hedging and execution strategies, filtering and processing of tick data, and databases for trades and market data.

 

Preference will be given to applications received by June 30. The company anticipates making hiring decisions in June/July with start dates of July 1 to September 1.

The successful candidate will have:

·        a B.S. or M.S. in computer science, engineering or related field  

·        stellar OO programming skills in C++, C# or Java

·        prior experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL or other database

·        an ability to design and develop highly robust, maintainable and scalable code

·        professional software development experience in a high tech, hedge fund or investment bank is desirable

·        experience with large-scale data management / analysis preferred

·        working familiarity with Matlab or R is helpful

·        knowledge of statistics desired

·        a keen interest in finance

·        knowledge of commodity or futures markets is a plus

·        willingness to relocate to Portland, Oregon before September 1  

·        applicants with experience, degrees, and or certifications in finance will be given preference.
