Position Description:
QUANTITATIVE PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Position Summary
PIMCO is seeking a quantitative portfolio manager based in Newport Beach. Activities of the group involve smart passive strategies, ETFs, Tail Risk Hedging, asset allocation, customized client portfolio solutions and systematic portfolios across rates, credit and currencies. This individual will report to Vineer Bhansali and work alongside a team of other quantitative portfolio managers.
The candidate will possess the ability to critically evaluate strategies and investment decisions, engage in trade implementation and work with specialty desk across the broader investment platform. The candidate must have solid analytical and quantitative skills, communicate effectively and have the ability to collaborate with research, trading, client account managers, product specialists, legal and middle office.

Requirements
• 3-5 years of portfolio management experience
• Strong presentation and communication skills - ability to articulate ideas/strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing, to work within the firm's demanding and highly focused environment
• Quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to understand and write program is highly desirable
• Understanding of basic fundamentals and concepts of portfolio/risk management
• Ability to interact with clients to gain new business and to give performance and strategy updates

• Strong academic credentials and achievements; undergraduate degree in a technical field (finance, statistics, financial engineering, engineering, mathematics, physics). Master's or Ph.D. degree desirable but not required.
