RAD Front Office Developer recruitment

Opportunity

The company is now looking to recruit a person to fill the role of RAD Front Office Analyst/Developer to work within the 17 strong RAD Team who provide development and support resource for the Front, Middle and Back Office functions within MG Investments. The successful candidate will have a strong level experience of IT development and experience of formal development methods and techniques alongside knowledge across asset classes - especially Equities, Fixed Income and derivative instruments.

MG are looking for a driven and motivated individual with a high level of responsibility and an eye for quality. The candidate should be quick to respond to user issues and the general demands of the business area supported.

Key responsibilities

- Development using VBA, Access, Excel, Oracle, SQL Server, C# .NET for the desktop and Intranet.
- Delivering RAD systems to the Front Office (Equities, Fixed Income Retail) via the desktop and intranet.
- Client relationship management with users in the business.
- RAD team task delivery and communication at all levels.
- Issue/problem management including defining actions for other areas in Information Systems and Technical Services teams.
- Escalation to RAD manager, senior IS managers and Business management.

What we are looking for

Essential

- Strong development experience.
- Detailed knowledge of Fund Management principles and concepts.
- Technical proficiency using .NET/C#,VBA, Access, Excel, SQL Server and Oracle
- Good understanding of OO concepts and principals
- Experience of Office 2010
- Must have very strong problem analysis and investigation skills and be able to find creative sustainable solutions to system issues and user problems.
- Strong SQL across database environments.
- Strong communication skills and able to converse with users on their terms.
- Experienced in issue/problem management - on both technical and user/process basis.
- Experience of business and process analysis.
- Ability to work reliably without close supervision and used to working in a structured environment with clearly defined procedures and controls.
- Good interpersonal skills are key, the candidate must be able to work well with other members of the team, management and business clients.
- Keen willingness to learn where gaps exist in skill-set.

- Experience of DevExpress
- Knowledge/experience of agile development practices
- Automated unit testing and test driven development
- Control-M experience
- Microsoft SharePoint knowledge
- XML and XSL
