Arcata Associates, Inc. has an opportunity in North Las Vegas, NV for a Range Control Technician (Computer Operator IV) on the J-Tech Contract. The Range Control Technician will support the activities of the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) at Nellis AFB, NV.  Nellis AFB, the "Home of the Fighter Pilot," is located approximately 7 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. Among the many units assigned to Nellis AFB, it is the home of the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, "America's Ambassadors in Blue".

About this opportunity:

 

The Range Control Technician will communicate with manned threat simulators and aircrews and assist Military controllers with mission coordination and execution. 


The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.  The ideal candidate will have recent experience as a Threat Command and Control Operator or a Weapons Director and be familiar with the Nellis Test and Training Range (NTTR) range boundaries and geographical references. 

 

The Range Control Technician position requires:

 

·         Experience with the Command and Control of an Integrated Air Defense System and operations of associated Combined Operations equipment (multi/single-channel radios, intercoms, Have Quick II/ Secure Voice radios, Digital Integrated Air Defense Simulator (DIADS), Nellis Airspace Weapons Control System (NAWCS), Link 16 Tactical Display Framework (TDF), Multi Source CorrelatorTracker (MSCT), Range Airspace Management System (RAMS),  Blue Force Tracker (BFT), Red Forces Command and Control (RFCC), Passive Detection (PD), Compunetix and Radio Electronic Combat Systems (RECS)). 

·         Knowledge of Air Force Tactics Techniques Procedures (AFTTP) 3-1 Volume II. Knowledge of the Command and Control of an Integrated Air Defense System.  Thorough understanding of local Letters of Agreement, Memorandums of Understanding, and Flight Information Publications.

·         Ability to adapt to a variety of nonstandard problems, which require extensive operator intervention in coordination with outside agencies.

·         Ability to consistently demonstrate proper handling of Radio and Telephone procedures.

·         Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SSBI/SCI Government Security Clearance.
