We have an outstanding contract opportunity for a IRD Ops Trade Support to make their mark with one of the world's largest international banking and financial services companies. In the role of a IRD Ops Trade Support, you will play an integral role in helping our client deliver market leading services that set it apart from its competitors.
Interest Rate Derivatives Middle Office provides a full and dedicated support service to the Global Banking and Markets delta trading business. The overall objective of the team is to provide a high level of support and to maintain a high degree of control across all aspects of the process.
As such, the team requires a strong individual who is able to understand the products supported and the lifecycle events that occur on the products. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to run daily PnL and face off to the trading desk in explaining changes/differences.
The individual will be required to establish close working relationships, at all levels, with both Front Office and Support Staff (e.g. Credit, Finance, Market Risk, Legal IT) and as such will need to show strong communication skills and a desire to provide first class customer service. In addition, it is vital that all members of the team are focussed and committed to maintaining a strong control environment around the daily process.
Team Structure, team function and responsibilities, role specific responsibilities:
- The Vanilla Flow Middle office support of the trading desk is aligned by currency. As a result, members of the Middle Office team are responsible for numerous front office traders trading a variety of products.
The core responsibilities include:
- Timely validation and accurate affirmation of all trades captured in the Risk Management Systems.
- Completion of EOD processes including completeness and reconciliation checks to ensure capture of new trading activity and general book management has been processed accurately.
- Reconciliation of system PL to flash PL on a T0 / T+1 basis and resolution of any differences / discrepancies to trader and to the Finance area.
- Show an appreciation of the different support requirements for individual Traders and modify approach to supporting these where appropriate
- Through close liaison with the trading floor, ensure the timely and efficient resolution of trader queries, promoting the MO as a source of valued advisors and technical experts
Specific business knowledge technical knowledge required
- Familiarity with PL processes and language, and having the ability to generate daily PL decomposition for products and systems used to reconcile against Front Office Daily PL numbers.
- Have a good knowledge of the front to back Operations process (including the key elements of confirmations and settlements as well as funding) and facilitate issue resolution across teams.
- Understand the key elements of other infrastructure groups i.e. Finance, Market risk, Credit risk, Operational risk, Legal, Tax and Compliance and recognise the impact of the actions of the MO on these areas.
