Rates & Credit Exotics IPV Director

The IPV (Independent Price Verification) team perform a technically challenging role in Finance, requiring a solid understanding ofthe bank`sFinance infrastructure; cross-asset product knowledge, from both risk and pricing perspectives and an up-to-date knowledge of market practice, conditions and the regulation thereof. This team focuses in non-linear trading of which the bank is consistently ranked in the top 3 globally.

The team`s responsibilities include:

- Undertaking Independent Price Verification (IPV) for the businesses.
- Executing on specific initiatives that fall in line with the overall strategic aims of the business and Trading-Banking BUC.
- Closure of any testing gaps identified in the course of undertaking IPV
- Devising appropriate methodologies where independent reference levels are not available
- Leveraging Front Office pricing models and adopting these for IPV purposes using independent parameters
- Supporting Strategic Change initiatives around IPV
- Production and review of all relevant Reserving methodologies relevant to the businesses
- Review and assessment of quality and coverage data to adopt in Reserving processes
- Supporting and leading (when required) on new structured transaction proposals (STARs) and also New Product Approval (NPAP) requests
- Embedding a continuous improvement ethic in all practices

The individual will be required to establish

- Experience of managing technical teams
- Strong knowledge of Structured and Flow products
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent academic record.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good PC skills - spreadsheets, word processing
.- Professional qualification in accountancy, Investment Analysis or Applied Mathematics (e.g. CFA, CQF).
- Active appreciation of valuation control concepts and requirements relating to derivative trading activity in a banking environment.
- Grounding in derivative products and an appreciation of the relationship between market risk exposure, valuation and PL.
- Understanding of the end to end PL and balance sheet reporting process.
- Knowledge of product valuation and risk management techniques and knowledge of standard financial newswires.
- Understanding of IT issues relating to system valuations.
- Finance related further education.
- Working knowledge of IFRS, in particular IAS39.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to operate effectively across all levels in the organisation (across a diverse range of customers and locations).
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Methodical, logical, organised and thorough with a structured approach to tasks and the ability to break down complex problems into their core components.
