Full Job Description
The Front to Back Finance Change team has responsibility for the execution and delivery of a number of front-to-back desk-related and cross-functional transformation projects on behalf of Finance. Our main customer is Product Control (PC), sponsors are Front Office and Finance. The team has a mix of professional project managers, business analysts, process engineers and subject matter experts.
The team has responsibility for delivering the Finance related aspects of multi-million pound projects for transforming the infrastructure of the trading business of the bank. This will include involvement with Front to back projects relating to the Product Control requirements as well as specific Support functions programmes, which would include Operations, Market Risk other Finance programmes such as Regulatory and MI Programmes
Typical project responsibilities
- Project planning.
- Liaising with current users and other areas to determine project requirements.
- Production of functional specifications.
- Defining accounting configuration for systems.
- Preparing test plans and migration plans.
- Performing system (SIT) testing.
- Co-ordinating user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Performing co-ordinating migration testing.
- Performing co-ordinating implementations and go-live after care
- Liaising with other stakeholder groups within finance (e.g. tax, intercompany, stat reg) an
Specific business knowledge technical knowledge required:
- Project exposure, either directly or as a result of being involved from a user perspective
- Understanding of the Investment Banking Industry
- Some knowledge of the Flow business and Flow products
- Good accounting knowledge; candidate should CIMA-ACA qualified with experience in product-financial control.
- Understanding of accounting environments and systems processes.
- Microsoft Office skills (especially intermediate Access and Excel and basic knowledge of Visio)
- Experience of working on systems related projects within an investment banking or corporate banking arena is advantageous.
- Rates product control experience desirable or a working knowledge of these markets.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and packages such as Rapid SQL would be advantageous
- Knowledge of Finance systems used within investment banking would be advantageous.
- Understanding of testing
- Experience in documenting requirements, processing mapping, functional specifications
- Able to plan and prioritise their own workload efficiently and effectively, escalating issues when necessary.
- Demonstrate good initiative, energy and vision.
- Able to identify system and control problems and deal with complex technical and system issues.
- Able to be creative in problem and issue resolution.
