Rates Product Control recruitment

A leading hedge fund, currently seeks a Rates Product Controller, to be based in London.

The Rates Product Control will be part of the Product Control team, and will be responsible for:

-Daily PL preparation and reporting to the front office.
-Daily and Weekly PL reporting to senior management.
-Verification of the daily and monthly asset prices and the resulting calculation of PL adjustments across all products/funds.
-Production of weekly and monthly NAV estimates for funds for distribution to investors
-Review of month end information supplied by the administrator, reporting exceptions on a timely basis to meet fund deadlines.
-Regular communication with the fund's administrators, reviewing / amending information supplied before reporting to the trading desks.

As such, the successful Rates Product Control will have the following skills and experience:
-The ideal candidate should be a qualified accountant with experience in a Product Control role gained within an investment bank or other asset manager or good experience in a Product Control role if not a qualified accountant.
-Products traded range from vanilla through to Exotic's across all asset classes
-Previous knowledge of interest rate products would be an advantage but not a requirement.
-The candidate must have very good A level (or equivalent) grades in numerical subjects, a strong degree from a major academic institution and hold an accountancy qualification, ideally ACA or equivalent having qualified at a Big 4 firm.
-An understanding of NAVs, fund accounting and pricing methodologies would also be an advantage but is not a requirement. Very importantly, the candidate should be able to work independently and be delivery focused.
