Rates Product Controller recruitment
A Rates Product Controller is sought by a renowned global investment bank in the City of London. This position exists within the London Rates Product Control team supporting the fixed income derivatives business, and is based in the City of London.
The primary responsibilities of the rates product controller will be to:
- Provide an effective link between front office and product control
- Utilise specialist product knowledge and software skills to produce and summarise daily PL
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Obtain front office sign-off and publish final reports
- Produce a justification of the PL via daily risk-based decomposition
- Provide commentary on PL drivers to ensure immediate superiors are kept adequately appraised of pertinent issues and developments
- Produce month-end final revenue figures for the rates business and to attest to balance sheet accuracy
The product scope of the rates product control team are:
- Bonds/repos
- Single cross currency interest rate swaps
- FRAs
- Bonds
- Exchange traded futures future options
- FX spots forwards
As such, we are looking for a rates product controller with:
- Accountancy qualification or working towards a qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Solid product control experience
- Good product experience, preferably in rates derivatives
- Excellent numerical skills with the ability to problem solve in a logical manner
- Capable of working to tight deadlines and under severe time pressure
This rates product controller position will give the successful candidate the opportunity to develop key relationships with financial control, front office, global risk management, operations, and valuations.
