Rating Analyst (in Berlin)

The new Risk Center in Berlin centralizes multiple key global corporate functions underlining Deutsche Bank’s vision of integrated risk management.

Main responsibilities
• Day-to-day management of the dynamic international portfolios of counterparties;
• Undertaking accurate and timely financial analyses on counterparties (balance sheets, income statements, cashflow statements, notes to accounts and evaluation of financial ratios);
• Undertaking accurate and timely credit rating analyses, including financial spreads, market data analyses, peer analyses and cashflow models/forecasts undertaken by analysts;
• Presenting counterparty ratings at rating committees for final approval;
• On-going monitoring and surveillance of assigned international portfolios, including rating changes, market/industry developments, news events, etc.;
• Developing and applying industry/country expertise as relevant to assigned international portfolio;
• Proactively participating and supporting team heads on assignments;
• Fostering team spirit within the group;
• Maintaining relationships with the various internal departments/staff members.

Required education
• Apprenticeship in banking and/or financial practice;
• Ideally qualified degree level educated;
• Possible additional relevant professional qualification (MSc/MA/MBA/CA/CFA etc.)

Key competencies
• Relevant work experience (1–3 years);
• Strong analytical skills, knowledge of financial markets and economic/industry trends;
• Preferably with a strong accounting background, knowledge of financial ratios, financial statement analysis;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (all rating reports are written in English; team meetings and telephone conferences are held in English);
• Strong language skills in Dutch (all customer documentation, such as annual reports, news and websites, are available in this language only).

• Must be a self-starter and proactive in bringing new ideas and solutions to the table.
• Must demonstrate ability to manage own time efficiently and effectively, and be able to multitask, absorb ideas and facts quickly while maintaining a strict eye for detail;
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
• Ability to apply entrepreneurial skills to develop processes and activities.
