Role Synopsis and Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and experienced Raw Material Specialist to procure raw material and bring the knowledge and expertise to provide alternative material solutions. This position is more focused on the knowledge and experience with raw materials with regards to specification and less focused on the administrative portion of procurement. We need an individual that can aggresively seek solutions to material shortages and work proactively to prevent raw material problems. This individual will need to be able to work with suppliers and confidently represent Baker Hughes from a technical perspective with regards to raw material. Experience is needed in tubing, round bar, sand castings, and investment castings. Oil field experience is preferred.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical degree ok
- 3 years experience purchasing raw materials
- Basic analytical skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of general principles, concepts, theories, and practices of raw materials
