R&D Category Manager Job in Hull HU11AA, Yorkshire UK
My client is a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer based in the North East. Due to continued growth they now have an immediate requirement for a RD Category Manager to join their team.
In this role you will be responsible for leading the team that has global responsibility for the introduction of new development projects as well as enhancing exisiting products.
Working with the Category Director, you will generate the technical content of Project Development Briefs and ensure that all RD sections are complete and consistent. Following a project through to completion, you will liaise with the appropriate development and supply chain personnel and ensure satisfactory handover to the manufacturing department and eventual launch onto the market.
You will need to have a very strong commercial knowledge and work closley with the Category Team in order to adapt to ever changing business needs. Using your in depth knowledge of the industry, you will keep a close eye on competitors activities and respond to threats. You will do this by understanding their development activities, advising the Category Team and identifying technical solutions in response to these.
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be educated to degree levelk in a relevant scientific discipline. In addition to this you will have extensive industry experience within an FMCG/Healthcare environment running a small development team coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in the Recruitment, management and development of people is also required.
