An excellent career opportunity is currently available for an RD Engineer/Scientist–Aromatics Development within UOP’s Research and Development organization located in Des Plaines, IL. This position affords a unique opportunity to lead the development and commercialization of new UOP Aromatics Derivatives process technologies, as well support the growth of this strategic product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Function as the process development specialist/engineer for several BTX (benzene, toluene, xylenes) technologies.
- Actively participate in key aromatic technology delivery development projects that will result in new process technologies and catalysts as well as creation of new capabilities that will be broadly applicable to successful commercialization.
- Strong interest in RD work, self-starting and demonstrated leadership aptitude is important.
- Provide aromatics technical support to sales, engineering, and field services. Some direct commercial support of newly commercialized and existing technologies; analyzing commercial data and improving quality and capabilities of UOP's simulation tools and commercial representations.
- Gain exposure to a broad range of functions and experts in RD, Engineering, Technical service, Manufacturing Science, Research, Marketing, and Sales. Opportunities for cross training and new solutions for technical problems.
Basic Qualifications
- BS Chemical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 3+ years of post graduate experience in combination of development, technical service or commercial job functions dealing with refining or petrochemical process technologies is required.
Additional Qualifications
- Advanced degree is considered ideal.
- A knowledge of process flowschemes, catalysts, solvents, adsorbents, and simulation tools related to BTX technologies desired.
- Prior field service experience preferred.
